Job summary

Vetro Recruitment is seeking a qualified Higher Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA) for a welcoming primary setting in Wirral. The HLTA will lead learning activities, deliver targeted interventions, and help pupils access the curriculum while maintaining a calm, inclusive classroom.

Safeguarding and pupil wellbeing are central to the role, with responsibilities including 1:1 and small-group support, supervising classes during short-term absences, and contributing to assessment evidence.

Qualifications

• HLTA status or strong equivalent advanced classroom support experience.
• Experience as HLTA or similar role leading learning activities/interventions.
• Strong safeguarding knowledge and inclusive practice in education.
• Enhanced DBS Check and Right to Work in the UK.

Responsibilities

• Deliver planned learning activities with 1:1 and small-group interventions.
• Supervise whole classes during short-term teacher absence.
• Support planning and resource preparation for varied needs including SEND.
• Monitor learning and contribute to assessment evidence.
• Feed back progress to teaching staff to support outcomes.
