Job summary

Tradewind Recruitment LTD. is seeking an experienced Higher Level Teaching Assistant to support a secondary school on the Wirral, Merseyside. The HLTA will lead learning activities, support students 1:1 and in small groups, and provide cover for lessons where required.

The ideal candidate will have HLTA status or relevant experience, strong communication and classroom management skills, and a patient, proactive approach. An enhanced DBS is required or willingness to apply for one.

Qualifications

• HLTA qualification or substantial relevant experience.
• Strong communication and classroom management abilities.
• Ability to lead learning activities and interventions.
• Confident in providing cover for lessons as needed.
• Experience supporting students with SEND or SEMH is beneficial.

Responsibilities

• Deliver engaging lessons and learning activities.
• Lead learning activities for individuals or small groups.
• Provide classroom cover when required.
• Support students with SEND, behavioural and learning needs.
• Collaborate with teachers and SEN teams to monitor progress.
• Build positive relationships and promote inclusive learning.
• Contribute to a safe, supportive learning environment.
