Job summary

Calibre Search is seeking a Principal Landscape Architect to lead a varied project portfolio from Manchester or Sheffield, delivering landscape design, planning and management services while mentoring junior colleagues.

The role combines technical delivery with business development, fee proposals and bids, guiding multidisciplinary teams from concept through to completion in a hybrid working environment.

Qualifications

• Degree in Landscape Architecture or relevant discipline.
• Chartered Membership of the Landscape Institute (CMLI).
• At least six years' consultancy or professional experience, including post-chartership.
• Experience delivering and coordinating LVIAs, EIAs or other landscape planning assessments.
• Proven track record of project management, including financial and commercial responsibilities.
• Knowledge of GLVIA guidance and landscape planning processes.
• Experience using AutoCAD, Vectorworks and Adobe Creative Suite.
• Excellent communication, stakeholder management and report-writing skills.
• Experience mentoring colleagues and contributing to business development.

Responsibilities

• Leading and managing landscape projects, including LVIAs and supporting EIAs.
• Managing multiple projects, overseeing programmes, budgets, fees and financial performance.
• Acting as a key client contact with planning authorities and multidisciplinary teams.
• Preparing, reviewing and quality-assuring technical reports and deliverables.
• Applying GLVIA guidance to deliver robust technical work.
• Mentoring junior colleagues and providing technical guidance.
• Preparing fee proposals and contributing to bids and tenders.
• Identifying opportunities to develop client relationships and support growth.
