Job summary

Imad's Syrian Kitchen is seeking a Sous Chef to support the Head Chef in delivering high-quality dishes and supervising kitchen staff. This role ensures smooth service, maintains standards, and steps in for the Executive Chef when required.

The candidate will lead a busy kitchen, manage staff, maintain quality and safety, and collaborate with service teams to uphold the restaurant’s reputation in a dynamic London setting.

Qualifications

• Culinary Arts degree or equivalent preferred, but experience can substitute.
• Strong leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
• Advanced knowledge of cooking techniques, kitchen equipment, and food safety regulations.
• Ability to multitask and work well in a fast paced environment.
• Knowledge of cost control and budget management.

Responsibilities

• Supervise kitchen staff and mentor junior cooks.
• Oversee food preparation and ensure quality during service.
• Monitor inventory and assist with ordering ingredients to minimize waste.
• Maintain high culinary standards and ensure health and safety compliance.
• Develop and update kitchen procedures and assist with menu design.
• Lead the team in the absence of the Executive Chef and foster collaboration.
