Job summary

The Oaks Early Learning Centre Canterbury is seeking a dedicated lead kaiako/assistant manager to work with tamariki, whanau and the team. This full-time role supports day-to-day leadership and fosters a collaborative learning environment.

You will bring leadership experience in early childhood, a current practising certificate and a commitment to Te Whāriki and high-quality teaching. We offer mentoring, development opportunities and a competitive package.

Qualifications

At The Oaks Early Learning Centre we are committed to creating a warm, inclusive learning environment where responsive relationships, connection with the natural world, and child-led exploration sit at the heart of our practice.

We are looking for a dedicated and experienced lead kaiako/assistant manager who can work collaboratively with our team, tamariki, and whanau to support children to flourish. This is a full-time position of 35–40 hours per week, rostered between our centre operating hours of Monday to Friday, 7.30am–5.30pm. This is a lead kaiako role, as well as supporting the day-to-day leadership and management of the preschool. About you

• You are a fully qualified and registered early childhood teacher with a current practising certificate.
• You bring strong leadership, communication, relationship-building skills and are confident in mentoring, supporting and guiding the team.
