Qualifications

• Formal training or certification on software engineering concepts and advanced applied experience.
• Hands-on practical experience delivering system design, application development, testing, and operational stability.
• Advanced proficiency in one or more programming languages (e.g., Java).
• Proficient in all aspects of the SDLC and advanced understanding of agile methodologies and practices, including CI/CD, Application Resiliency, and Security.
• Demonstrated experience leading effective use of approved AI-assisted software development tools, including validating AI outputs for correctness, performance, and security.
• Strong understanding of responsible AI use in engineering workflows, including data sensitivity considerations, secure handling of inputs/outputs, and adherence to resiliency and security expectations.

Responsibilities

• Execute creative software solutions, including design, development, and technical troubleshooting.
• Develop secure, high-quality production code, and review and debug code written by others.
• Drive team adoption of AI-assisted engineering practices to improve code quality, delivery speed, and operational outcomes, establishing validation standards.
• Apply knowledge of SDLC tools and automation capabilities to improve value realized by automation.
• Identify opportunities to eliminate recurring issues to improve operational stability and resiliency.
• Lead evaluation sessions with external vendors, startups, and internal teams to assess architectural designs and applicability.
• Lead communities of practice across Software Engineering; promote awareness of new technologies.
• Foster a team culture of diversity, opportunity, inclusion, and respect.
