The installation manager shall be responsible for managing the safe and efficient completion of the transportation and installation elements of the WTG Foundation scope of works. Key responsibilities include:
- Development and implementation of the package engineering plan and conceptual design for T&I, integrated into the overall installation strategy.
- Development and maintenance of a construction programme for the work package.
- Creation of the Employer’s Technical Requirements for T&I and technical evaluation of bids.
- Management of contractor’s early engineering works, review, and acceptance of their engineering and procedures.
- Supervision of offshore works carried out by the contractor.
- Final acceptance and as-built reporting of the completed works.
- Management of the handover process to the operations and maintenance team.
Additional responsibilities may include acting as deputy to the Package Manager and overseeing health and safety, budgeting, planning, procurement, and reporting.
Main Activities
Project Management
- Implementation of the engineering plan and management of associated services and resources.
- Coordination of interface tasks per the project's Interface Management Plan.
- Management of the Certified Verification Agency (CVA) approval process for T&I.
- Establishment of effective communication protocols and document review processes among all project stakeholders.
- Handling administrative tasks related to planning and executing installation works.
Procurement
- Preparation of technical documentation for ITT and EPCI packages.
- Technical assessment of bids, including T&I solutions, compliance, programme analysis, weather, vessel assurance, and risk assessment.
- Supporting the technical evaluation process through coordination with reviewers.
Consents
- Coordination of consent deliverables.
- Technical support to discharge project consent conditions.
- Management of conceptual design and interface engineering activities for T&I.
- Management and approval of contractor’s installation engineering activities.
- Development of survey strategies and management of survey works.
- Preparation of T&I documentation to support consent discharge.
T&I Contract Management
- Support for T&I contractor management, including quality, health, safety, and environmental oversight.
- Management of detailed design and offshore transportation & installation works.
Execution of the Works
- Review and approval of contractor procedures, engineering studies, and analyses.
- Coordination with the Marine Warranty Surveyor and offshore representatives.
- Management of offshore activities, progress monitoring, and reporting.
- Support to quality assurance processes, including NCRs related to transportation and installation.
