Job summary

Energy Jobline CVL is recruiting a Principal Engineer in Bridgend, South Wales for a major infrastructure contractor delivering water, energy and environmental projects across the UK.

You will lead engineering input, act as technical authority, mentor engineers and drive buildable, innovative solutions across pre-construction, design, tender and delivery.

This is a strategic role offering a competitive salary, car allowance and benefits, with strong career progression and support for chartership.

Qualifications

• Degree, HNC or HND in Civil Engineering, Construction Management or a related discipline.
• CEng status or actively working towards chartership.
• Full UK Driving Licence.

Responsibilities

• Lead engineering input from feasibility and concept design through to project delivery.
• Provide technical leadership during tender and bid submissions.
• Develop construction methodologies, engineering strategies and sequencing plans.
• Undertake buildability reviews, value engineering exercises and technical risk assessments.
• Drive engineering excellence across pre-construction and project delivery teams.
• Develop and review temporary and permanent works solutions.
• Support planning, programming and construction methodology development.
• Act as a technical advisor to clients, consultants, operational teams and stakeholders.
• Champion sustainable engineering solutions and modern methods of construction.
• Support compliance with CDM Regulations and Principal Designer duties where required.
• Capture lessons learned and promote continuous improvement throughout the business.
• Mentor and develop engineers, helping build technical capability across the organisation.
• Represent the business during technical reviews, client presentations and stakeholder meetings.
