Job summary

Hitachi Energy is seeking an experienced Senior Project Commissioning Manager to lead commissioning for HVDC, HV substations, and grid integration projects across the UK. You will coordinate planning, testing, energisation, and handover, ensuring safety and quality in accordance with contractual requirements.

As the primary commissioning authority, you will work with project management, engineering, construction, operations, and customers to drive readiness, manage risks, and transition assets

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or related field.
• Significant commissioning experience on HVDC, HV substations, grid projects.
• Proven ability to lead commissioning activities with multiple stakeholders.
• Strong knowledge of HSE requirements in HV environments.
• TP141A certification desirable.
• Experience with National Grid projects preferred.

Responsibilities

• Lead all commissioning activities through design review to final handover.
• Act as primary commissioning authority within the project team.
• Develop and implement commissioning strategies, plans, and test procedures.
• Manage subsystem and system testing, energisation, and handover.
• Ensure safety and compliance with project specs, laws, and standards.
• Monitor progress and implement recovery plans for schedule risks.
• Coordinate interfaces between engineering, construction, operations, and suppliers.
• Resolve technical issues, defects, and punch points.
• Manage commissioning documentation, test reports, and handover dossiers.
• Identify risks and mitigations to support safe delivery.
• Support customer inspections and acceptance processes.
• Drive excellence through planning, execution, and stakeholder management.
