Job summary

Advance Training & Recruitment Services is seeking a Senior Cable Design Engineer to lead HV/MV cable design for major UK energy and infrastructure projects, from concept through to detailed design. You will collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, review specifications and drawings, mentor junior engineers, and ensure compliance with British and international standards.

Qualifications

• HV/MV cable design experience required.
• Experience with substation and transmission projects.
• Knowledge of cable sizing and routing calculations.
• Familiarity with UK and international standards.

Responsibilities

• Lead and deliver HV/MV cable design packages.
• Undertake cable sizing, rating and technical calculations.
• Develop cable routes, layouts, schedules and design documentation.
• Produce and review technical specifications and drawings.
• Provide technical guidance to junior engineers and designers.
• Liaise with clients, contractors and other engineering disciplines.
• Support design reviews and resolve technical queries.
• Ensure designs meet relevant standards and project requirements.
