Job summary

Rossendale School, part of Aspris Children's Services, is seeking a Lead Humanities Teacher to lead History, PSHE, Geography, RE and Psychology for pupils with Autism and related needs. You will drive high-quality learning, support wellbeing and work with colleagues to ensure strong outcomes across Humanities.

Applicants should hold QTS or equivalent and have demonstrable experience leading whole-school initiatives in SEND settings.

Qualifications

• QTS or equivalent
• In-depth knowledge of Humanities subjects
• Awareness and experience working with pupils with SEN including Autism
• Knowledge of local and national educational policies
• Ability to lead a subject area, support and inspire colleagues
• Experience leading whole-school initiatives showing progress in practice
• Commitment to inclusive education, pupil wellbeing and personal development

Responsibilities

• Providing inspirational leadership in key subject areas - History; PSHE; Geography; RE and Psychology.
• Championing continuous improvement and celebrating successful outcomes across the Humanities subjects school-wide.
• Enabling engaging, inclusive and high-quality learning opportunities for all pupils to thrive and reach their full potential.
• Producing regular reports and updates for the Senior Leadership Team within key responsibility areas.
• Supporting the Senior Leadership Team in promoting and embedding the school's values, policies and ethos.
• Effectively managing allocated resources and budgets to maximise their impact on meeting the needs of pupils and curriculum.
• Where needed, providing whole school leadership and oversight within designated areas of responsibility.
