Rotherwood Education is recruiting a dedicated Humanities Teacher to join a supportive secondary school in the Rossendale area. This full-time, ongoing position covers Key Stages 3 and 4 and offers an excellent opportunity to make a positive impact in a thriving educational setting.

You will deliver engaging Humanities lessons across History, Geography, Religious Education and other Humanities subjects as timetabled.

Qualifications

• Holds Qualified Teacher Status (QTS), PGCE or an equivalent teaching qualification.
• Experience teaching Humanities at secondary level.
• Commitment to safeguarding of children and young people.

Responsibilities

• Deliver engaging and thought-provoking Humanities lessons across KS3 and KS4.
• Plan and prepare high-quality lessons tailored to a range of abilities.
• Teach History, Geography, RE and/or other Humanities subjects as timetabled.
• Develop students' knowledge, critical thinking and understanding of key Humanities concepts.
• Support student progress through effective assessment and feedback.
• Maintain a positive, inclusive and well-managed classroom environment.
• Collaborate with colleagues within the Humanities department and contribute to departmental development.

• Contract Type: Full‑time, ongoing
• Daily Rate: £168.80 – £215.68 per day

About the Humanities Teacher Role

• Deliver engaging and thought‑provoking Humanities lessons across KS3 and KS4
• Plan and prepare high‑quality lessons tailored to a range of abilities
• Teach relevant areas of History, Geography, Religious Education and/or other Humanities subjects, depending on experience and timetable
• Develop students' knowledge, critical thinking and understanding of key Humanities concepts
• Support student progress through effective assessment and feedback
• Maintain a positive, inclusive and well‑managed classroom environment
• Work collaboratively with colleagues within the Humanities department
• Contribute to wider school activities and departmental development

The Ideal Humanities Teacher Will

• Hold Qualified Teacher Status (QTS), PGCE or an equivalent teaching qualification
• Have experience teaching Humanities at secondary level
• Be confident planning and delivering engaging and inclusive lessons
• Demonstrate excellent classroom management and communication skills
• Be committed to supporting the progress and development of all learners
• Be committed to the safeguarding of children and young people
• Provide details of the 2 most recent references, covering the last 5 years' work history
• Possess a current DBS check or be prepared to apply for one as part of registration
• Be willing to complete a face‑to‑face registration and satisfy the required safeguarding and compliance checks
