Job summary

Mount Havelock, part of the First Steps Together Group, invites applications for an experienced Secondary Humanities Teacher to join a brand-new specialist school in Huddersfield. You will deliver engaging Humanities teaching to pupils with SEND, adapting to individual needs and EHCP outcomes.

You will work with TAs and the school team to foster knowledge in History and Geography, develop critical thinking, and create accessible learning pathways within a supportive, aspirational environment.

Qualifications

• Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) and a recognised degree are essential.
• Experience teaching Humanities to secondary pupils, including those with SEND, is desirable.
• Ability to differentiate teaching and personalise learning for diverse starting points.

Responsibilities

• Plan and deliver high-quality secondary Humanities teaching for pupils with SEND.
• Teach pupils individually, in small groups, and in classes with adaptable methods.
• Develop History, Geography and broader Humanities knowledge and critical thinking.
• Assess pupil progress and contribute to EHCP outcomes and Annual Reviews.
• Lead and collaborate with teaching assistants and external professionals to support learning.
