Job summary

Nottingham City Council is seeking an experienced Repairs Service Manager to lead the delivery of high-quality housing maintenance across Nottingham. You will manage a team of trade operatives and contractors, ensuring works are carried out on time, safely and within budget, while delivering customer-focused outcomes.

You will report to the Head of Service and work in a hybrid environment, with 3 days on-site and travel to other sites as needed.

Qualifications

• Proven experience managing trade operatives in social housing environments.
• Track record of delivering continuous improvement in community settings.
• Strong health and safety management experience including risk mitigation.
• Ability to manage and motivate staff fostering trust and respect.
• Ability to manage complex projects and budgets effectively.
• Excellent communication skills across all levels.

Responsibilities

• Oversee delivery of high-quality maintenance and repairs services across planned works, M&E, responsive repairs or insourced programmes.
• Lead and support a team of trade colleagues and contractors to drive performance and value for money.
• Manage resources, monitor delivery against targets, and ensure works are completed on time and within budget.
• Provide technical guidance on site, promote safe working practices and build strong relationships with residents and stakeholders.
• Champion a positive, inclusive culture with a strong focus on customer care, equality, and diversity.
