Job summary

Amica Care Trust is seeking a Head Housekeeper to lead our housekeeping team and ensure a clean, safe and homely environment for residents, visitors and staff. The role involves line management, rota planning, training and quality assurance within a care home setting.

You will drive high standards of cleanliness and infection prevention, oversee laundry, and work closely with the Home Manager to support regulatory compliance and a positive resident experience.

Qualifications

• Experience in housekeeping, domestic services or hospitality.
• Ability to lead and motivate a team.
• Organised, detail-focused and good communicator.
• Understanding of hygiene, infection prevention and COSHH.
• Willingness to work alternate weekends.

Responsibilities

• Lead, support and motivate the housekeeping team to deliver high standards.
• Plan rotas and ensure cleaning and laundry coverage across the home.
• Maintain cleanliness, hygiene and infection prevention in all areas.
• Oversee laundry and linen processes and ensure safe practices.
• Carry out checks, audits and inspections and act on improvements.
• Create a warm, welcoming environment respecting residents' dignity and privacy.
• Ensure housekeeping meets health, safety and governance requirements.
• Collaborate with Home Manager to support resident and visitor experience.
