Job summary

Growing Well in Kendal, Cumbria, is recruiting a GROWING ACTIVITY LEAD to oversee field-based activities for our beneficiaries at Low Sizergh Farm near Kendal. The role is permanent, 37.5 hours per week, with a salary of £27,000-£30,000 p.a., dependent on experience.

You will work alongside our current activity leads, delivering horticultural skills development and coordinating with the Mental Health Support Coordinator to tailor pathways for each beneficiary’s goals.

Qualifications

• 2+ years practical experience in commercial (organic) production horticulture / market gardening, including field-scale and polytunnel work.
• Organic horticultural production and pest/weed control practices.
• Knowledge and understanding of mental health conditions.
• High standard of written and oral communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Lead field-based, goals-based activity for adults experiencing mental ill health at the Kendal site.
• Collaborate with Mental Health Support Coordinator to tailor pathways to mental health recovery.
• Deliver horticultural skills development aligned with the season, business needs, and volunteers' requirements.
