Housing Quality Network is seeking a Community Gardening Coordinator to lead the Growing Together project and coordinate our green spaces and outdoor community hub.

This hands-on role blends practical gardening with community development, guiding a small team of freelance gardeners, volunteers and participants to create welcoming, inclusive outdoor spaces and opportunities for people to connect with nature and their neighbours.

Qualifications

  • Experience leading a gardening or community project.
  • Ability to coordinate volunteers and freelancers.
  • Comfort working outdoors in diverse communities.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate the Growing Together project and green spaces.
  • Lead a small team of freelance gardeners, practitioners, volunteers and participants.
  • Support wellbeing and connections with nature for the local community.
  • Collaborate with Alliance Homes Community Investment Team and Our Neighbourhood Network.

Job description

We are looking for an enthusiastic and proactive Community Gardening Coordinator to lead and develop our Growing Together project and support the ongoing coordination of our green spaces and outdoor community hub,

This exciting and varied role combines practical gardening and community development. You will use our green spaces as a tool to bring people together to improve wellbeing and create opportunities for people to connect with nature, their neighbours and the local community.

Working closely with Alliance Homes Community Investment Team and the Our Neighbourhood Network project, funded by the National Lottery Community Fund, you will coordinate a small team of freelance gardeners, nature-based practitioners, volunteers and community participants to ensure our outdoor spaces thrive and remain welcoming, inclusive environments for everyone.

This is a hands-on role that would suit someone who believes in the power of community, enjoys working outdoors, and understands how gardening and nature can create meaningful opportunities for engagement and personal growth.
