Job summary

HCRG Care Group in the United Kingdom is seeking a Senior Community Carer to deliver safe, high‑quality care to children with complex medical needs in their homes and in the community. You’ll work closely with families and multidisciplinary teams to tailor care to each child’s needs, ensuring safety and compassion every day.

In this senior position you’ll guide and mentor colleagues, help develop services, and collaborate with families to ensure personalised, effective care.

Qualifications

• NVQ Level 3 in Health or Social Care or equivalent
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Experience working with children with complex needs in home settings
• Ability to build rapport with children and families
• Understanding of impact of caring for children with complex medical needs at home

Responsibilities

• Deliver high-quality care to children and young people with complex health needs following care plans and safeguarding procedures
• Communicate clearly and compassionately with children, families and colleagues
• Maintain professional boundaries and escalate changes in a child’s condition to the Clinical Case Manager
• Ensure availability and safe use of clinical equipment (ventilators, feeding pumps, oxygen monitors)
• Develop and maintain advanced clinical competencies in tracheostomy, ventilation and gastrostomy care
• Administer medication safely and accurately and document actions
• Work independently as a lone worker and manage workload with supervision when required
• Provide mentorship and informal training to colleagues to uphold high care standards
