Job summary

HCRG Care Group is seeking dedicated Community Carers to support children with complex medical needs in their homes and community settings across Surrey. You will deliver high-quality, personalised care, working with families and clinical teams to ensure safety, comfort and wellbeing for the children.

The role requires flexibility for 24/7 service, including night shifts and weekend work on a rotational basis; a full driving licence and access to a car are essential to reach families in their

Qualifications

• NVQ Level 3 in Health or Social Care, or a recognised Nursery Nurse qualification.
• GCSEs in Maths and English.
• British Sign Language Level 1 or Makaton.
• At least 1 year of experience supporting children with complex health needs.
• At least 1 year working with children in settings such as nurseries, respite care or community services.

Responsibilities

• Deliver safe, effective care to children in the community as delegated by the Named Nurse.
• Identify safeguarding concerns and follow appropriate procedures.
• Maintain competencies in specific clinical skills and understand emergency procedures, including escalation and resuscitation.
• Support children’s learning, development, and wellbeing in partnership with families and multidisciplinary colleagues.
• Organise day‑to‑day activities and attend mandatory training, supervision, and team sessions.
• Follow infection control, confidentiality, and health & safety procedures.
• Communicate effectively with children, families, and professionals, adapting your approach where communication barriers exist.
• Participate in team meetings, maintain accurate records, and contribute to a supportive team culture by sharing information and raising concerns.
