Job summary

Tradewind Recruitment is seeking a Full-Time Higher Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA) for a welcoming secondary school on the Wirral. The role supports teachers, leads small-group interventions, and provides one-to-one pupil support for ages 11–16.

You will be part of a team focused on motivation and consistent progress, with Tradewind backing for training and professional growth. The position runs Monday to Friday, 8:30am–3:30pm during term time, with training and support provided to help you

Qualifications

• HLTA status (Level 2 or 3) or equivalent secondary teaching support experience.
• Experience supporting pupils aged 11–16 across ability levels.
• Availability to work full-time, 8:30am–3:30pm, term time.

Responsibilities

• Support teachers in delivering high-quality lessons across a range of subjects.
• Lead small group interventions and sometimes cover whole classes.
• Provide one-to-one support for students who need extra help.

We're looking for a full-time Higher Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA) to join a welcoming secondary school on the Wirral, helping pupils thrive and reach their full potential.

What you'll be doing:

• Supporting teachers in delivering high-quality lessons across a range of subjects
• Leading small group interventions and sometimes covering whole classes when required
• Providing one-to-one support for students who need a little extra help
• Encouraging students to stay motivated, focused, and confident in their learning
• Bringing positivity, patience, and energy into every school day

What we're looking for:

• Someone available to work full-time, Monday to Friday, 8.30am - 3.30pm during term time
• HLTA status (Level 2 or 3) or equivalent experience supporting teaching and learning in a secondary setting
• Confidence working with pupils aged 11-16 across different ability levels
• A team player who's flexible, reliable, and passionate about helping young people succeed
