Job summary

Philosophy Education are seeking an experienced Higher Level Teaching Assistant to join a welcoming primary school in Great Clacton from September. The role is full-time and suitable for a confident HLTA who can lead lessons, deliver interventions and cover classes when required.

You will work across the primary age range, supporting pupils' learning and developing phonics, English and maths, while maintaining strong behaviour management and positive relationships with staff and pupils.

Qualifications

• Experience as HLTA or teaching assistant in primary settings.

Responsibilities

• Deliver planned lessons during teacher absence.
• Lead small-group interventions in English and maths.
• Support phonics and early reading sessions.
• Provide targeted one-to-one support.
• Support pupils with additional learning needs.
• Assist with classroom and behaviour management.
• Prepare learning resources.
• Monitor pupil progress and feed back to teachers.
• Help maintain a positive, inclusive primary school environment.
