Job summary

Kier Group is seeking a Ganger to join the Highways team in Wellingborough. You will lead a small crew to maintain the highway network, ensuring safety, efficiency, and adherence to PUWER and Kier standards.

The role operates Monday to Friday on a full-time basis, with a salary in the £29k–£35k range and additional call-out and overtime opportunities. The role requires SMSTS/SSSTS or similar qualifications, NRSWA Operative status, and a full driving licence.

Qualifications

• Lead teams successfully and deliver in a demanding environment.
• Hold SMSTS/SSSTS or similar qualification.
• Hold a NRSWA Operative or similar qualification.
• Drive and hold a full driving licence.

Responsibilities

• Lead a small team to carry out maintenance duties on the highway network.
• Safely operate and maintain equipment and ensure PUWER compliance.
• Provide guidance and training to colleagues while following Kier HS&E standards.
• Manage daily works and keep the site safe for operatives and the public.
• Conduct risk assessments at the point of work and enforce safe-working procedures.
• Record site safety information and photographs using a mobile app.
