Career Choices Dewis Gyrfa Ltd is recruiting for an HGV Workshop Supervisor in Widnes. This role blends hands-on vehicle work with supervisory duties, perfect for an experienced HGV technician stepping into leadership.

The position offers a four‑day week (Mon-Thu, 6:00am–4:30pm), a competitive salary of £41,000 with potential to £50,000, and strong development opportunities. You'll lead a technician team, train apprentices, and ensure quality across inspections and repairs.

Qualifications

• City & Guilds or NVQ Level 3 qualification in Heavy Vehicle or equivalent.
• Proven experience in diagnosis, servicing, maintenance and repair of heavy vehicles.
• Previous supervisory or team leadership experience.
• Strong organisational skills and attention to detail.
• Full UK driving licence; HGV licence preferred but not essential.
• Excellent communication skills with a confident professional manner.
• Ability to work independently and under pressure.
• Commitment to high standards of quality and customer service.

Responsibilities

• Supervise and delegate work to the technician team, ensuring quality standards are met.
• Assist in training and developing staff, including apprentices.
• Liaise effectively with other supervisors, customers and suppliers.
• Monitor workshop productivity and efficiency as a HGV Workshop Supervisor.
• Conduct final inspections and quality checks on repair work.
• Provide technical guidance and support to team members.
• Maintain accurate job card documentation and ensure proper recording of work.
• Identify training needs and support staff development.
• Flexibly manage workload to support operational targets and team success.
