Job summary

Valero Energy is seeking an experienced HES Supervisor at Milford Haven Terminal to oversee health, safety and environmental performance. You will support day-to-day operations, advise on Safe Work Practices, and help maintain UK regulatory compliance.

The role requires strong communication, leadership and risk assessment skills, with experience in risk control, audits and incident investigations. A chemical engineering background and NEBOSH qualifications are highly valued.

Qualifications

• Engineering degree in Chemical Engineering or equivalent.
• NEBOSH Diplomas or Certificates in Health & Safety management and Environmental management.
• Occupational Hygiene qualification or relevant experience.
• Membership of a professional health and safety or environmental body.

Responsibilities

• Provide day-to-day HES supervision and support to terminal employees and contractors, helping to maintain a safe operation and place of work.
• Promote compliance with Company policies and Safe Work Practices, and applicable legislation.
• Support Permit to Work and Safe Work Practices, monitoring activities and auditing compliance.
• Assist with risk assessments, HAZOP studies and ensure appropriate controls.
• Monitor contractor activities to maintain HES standards.
• Carry out workplace inspections and HES audits, driving improvements.
• Support COMAH regulatory requirements and provide documentation for reports.
• Participate in incident investigations and support corrective actions.
• Maintain accurate HES records and coordinate with management.
