Job summary

Cadent is seeking a Lead Gas Engineer to join our Emergency Response team. Covering Huntingdonshire and Cambridgeshire, you will be the first on scene, delivering a professional, customer‑focused service while safeguarding customers and communities.

You’ll work across emergency response, metering, safety inspections and network operations, with a 1‑in‑4 standby rota and the chance to develop your skills within a supportive field force.

Qualifications

• CCN1 or CMA1 qualification (essential).
• MET1 qualification (desirable).
• Gas industry experience including testing, purging and commissioning pipework.
• Good understanding of gas appliances, standards, legislation, codes of practice and health and safety requirements.

Responsibilities

• Respond to gas escapes and carbon monoxide alarms to protect customers.
• Act as the face of Cadent, delivering professional, customer-focused service.
• Work across emergency response, metering, safety inspections and network operations.
• Participate in a 1-in-4 standby rota.
