Job summary

Think PS Ltd is seeking an experienced Lead Gas Engineer to join a property maintenance team. The role covers domestic gas servicing and repairs across occupied properties with a hands-on focus on complex fault finding and heating repairs.

You'll mentor other engineers, provide technical guidance, and help ensure services are delivered safely to a high standard. A UK driving licence and DBS check are required, with travel to Oxford, Evesham, Droitwich, Cheltenham and nearby areas.

Qualifications

• ACS gas qualifications including CCN1, CENWAT, CKR1, HTR1, MET1 and CPA1.
• NVQ Level 2 in Plumbing, Heating or Ventilation or equivalent.
• Unvented hot water qualification.
• Strong experience diagnosing and repairing complex domestic heating faults.
• Full, valid UK driving licence.
• Willingness to undergo a DBS check.
• Based within reasonable travelling distance of the area, ideally within an hour.

Responsibilities

• Diagnose and complete complex repairs across domestic gas appliances and heating systems.

• Mentor colleagues and help improve first-time fix rates.
• Support difficult access cases and appointments requiring a flexible approach.

Location: Mobile – Oxford, Evesham, Droitwich, Cheltenham & surrounding areas

Salary: £46,000 per annum + overtime and out-of-hours payments

Contract: Permanent, full-time

Think Recruitment are recruiting for an experienced Lead Gas Engineer to join an established property maintenance provider, supporting domestic gas servicing and repairs across occupied properties.

This is a hands-on role combining complex fault finding and heating repairs with technical support and mentoring for other engineers. Working alongside the Heating Service Delivery Manager, you'll help resolve challenging jobs and ensure services are delivered safely and to a high standard.

Requirements

• Relevant ACS gas qualifications, including applicable certificates such as CCN1, CENWAT, CKR1, HTR1, MET1 and CPA1.
• NVQ Level 2 in Plumbing, Heating or Ventilation, or equivalent.
• Unvented hot water qualification.
• Strong experience diagnosing and repairing complex domestic heating faults.
• Basic electrical understanding of heating systems.
• LPG and Oil qualifications, or willingness to obtain these during probation.
• Experience working in occupied domestic properties.
• Strong communication, customer service and problem-solving skills.
• Full, valid UK driving licence.
• Willingness to undergo a DBS check.
• Based within reasonable travelling distance of the area, ideally within an hour.
• Social housing experience and knowledge of relevant legislation would be advantageous.
