Job summary

Trailmix Games is seeking a Lead Game Engineer to steer the technical direction of a new live mobile game project. You will lead the engineering team, while still hands-on with systems that run live traffic, focusing on enabling others and scaling the architecture for growth.

You will own delivery, uphold engineering standards, and collaborate with Product/Design, as the studio expands its live operations. Hybrid work, Kings Cross, London.

Qualifications

• Extensive experience within F2P mobile games, including at least one title shipped and operated live.
• Experience leading and developing engineers—running 1:1s, owning performance, and supporting growth.
• Hands-on experience applying AI tools to real engineering work.
• Strong architectural understanding of CI/CD, testing strategy, performance, and scalability.
• Depth in core stack: engine/runtime Unity/C#, gameplay/client architecture, and profiling/optimisation.
• Working knowledge of the server side of a live game—backend services, live-ops configuration, economy and telemetry data.

Responsibilities

• Provide technical leadership and set the engineering direction for the new game project.
• Manage, lead, and develop the engineering team; conduct regular 1:1s and deliver constructive feedback.
• Own the health of the live game with telemetry, alerting, and on-call practices; drive live-ops initiatives.
• Collaborate with Product/Design and Production to align on scope, feasibility, and delivery.
• Shape the technical roadmap, establish standards, and ensure scalable architecture for growth.
