Job summary

Code Wizards Group is seeking an Engineering Manager in Theale to lead and grow a team of software engineers across multiple game projects. You will blend technical leadership with people management, guide architectural decisions and ensure high-quality delivery while staying technically credible.

You will mentor engineers, conduct regular 1:1s, participate in career development, and collaborate with Product and Delivery to mitigate risks. Hybrid work supports in-office and remote collaboration.

Qualifications

• Significant commercial software engineering experience.
• Previous experience leading or managing engineering teams.
• Strong experience developing games or game-related technology.
• Excellent knowledge of C++ and modern software engineering practices.
• Experience with Unreal Engine and Unity.
• Experience with Go or C#.
• Experience building scalable multiplayer systems, online services or backend platforms.
• Strong understanding of cloud platforms, particularly AWS.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
• A passion for mentoring others and building high-performing engineering teams.
• AWS certifications or willingness to achieve them.
• Experience working on LiveOps or online multiplayer games.

Responsibilities
