Leverton Funeral Directors in Dartford seeks an experienced Funeral Director to oversee funeral operations, guiding families through services with dignity and care.

You will lead ceremonies, coordinate pre-service briefings and collaborate with care teams, while maintaining regulatory compliance and community engagement. A full UK driving licence and a compassionate, professional approach are essential.

Qualifications

• Experience leading funerals and supporting families.
• Full UK Driving Licence (essential).
• Strong knowledge of funeral processes and regulatory framework.
• Excellent communication, leadership and organisational skills.
• Calm under pressure with a respectful, compassionate approach.
• Physically capable of manual handling tasks, including coffin bearing.
• Able to work flexibly, including weekends and on-call.
• PC literate — Microsoft Office, Outlook and internal systems (training provided).

Responsibilities

• Lead funeral services with professionalism and attention to detail.
• Run pre-funeral briefings to keep everything clear and coordinated.
• Take a consultative approach, helping families explore options.
• Collaborate with arrangers, specialists, Funeral Directors and care teams.
• Assist with coffin preparation, handling of the deceased, and chapel duties.
• Mentor less experienced team members and participate in training.
• Build relationships with care homes, celebrants and local groups for community engagement.
