Job summary

General Dynamics Mission Systems in Hastings is seeking a Principal FPGA Engineer to own complex VHDL FPGA solutions for advanced mission computing systems. You will stay hands-on while providing technical leadership across the full engineering lifecycle.

You will guide other engineers, support decision-making and contribute to the ongoing development of our FPGA capability, collaborating with hardware, software and verification teams and leading design reviews.

Qualifications

• Extensive VHDL FPGA design and implementation experience.
• Strong FPGA design, simulation and verification knowledge.
• Experience leading FPGA design through lifecycle.
• Experience with the AMD Xilinx Vivado toolchain.
• Ability to lead technical reviews and resolve issues.
• Cross-disciplinary collaboration across hardware, software and verification.

Responsibilities

• Design, implement and verify complex FPGA solutions using VHDL.
• Lead FPGA development from requirements capture through integration and verification.
• Develop simulation environments and verification testbenches.
• Contribute to FPGA architecture and design decisions.
• Lead technical and design reviews and mentor engineers.
• Collaborate with multiple functions within the organization.
