Job summary

Join our Hastings engineering team at General Dynamics Mission Systems as a Principal FPGA Engineer, taking technical ownership of complex VHDL-based FPGA solutions for mission computing systems. You will stay hands-on in FPGA development while guiding the team through requirements capture, architecture, implementation, simulation, verification and integration.

You will lead technical reviews, mentor engineers and collaborate across hardware, software and verification disciplines to deliver

Qualifications

• Significant experience designing and implementing FPGA solutions using VHDL.
• Strong knowledge of FPGA design, simulation and verification, including test benches.
• Experience taking FPGA designs through requirements capture, implementation, integration and verification.
• Practical experience with an established FPGA toolchain, ideally AMD Xilinx Vivado.
• Ability to lead technical reviews and mentor other engineers.

Responsibilities

• Design, implement and verify complex FPGA solutions using VHDL.
• Lead FPGA development from requirements capture to integration and verification.
• Develop and maintain simulation environments and verification test benches.
• Contribute to architecture and design decisions for FPGA projects.
• Lead reviews and guide other engineers across disciplines.
