Job summary

MBDA UK is seeking an experienced FPGA Designer to contribute to complex FPGA platforms across signal processing and embedded systems. The role involves the full design life cycle from inception to validated designs, working in a hybrid office environment in Stevenage.

You will work with VHDL, SystemVerilog, and tools from Xilinx/Intel/Microsemi, verify with QuestaSim/ModelSim, and develop embedded C for test and integration. DV security checks may be required.

Qualifications

• Degree level or equivalent in a relevant field.
• Experience generating complex FPGA architectures and designs using VHDL/Simulink, targeting Xilinx/Intel/Microsemi devices.
• Verification experience with VHDL and SystemVerilog/UVM test benches.
• Proficiency with FPGA design tools and Mentor verification tools (QuestaSim & ModelSim).
• Strong C programming for FPGA test and embedded integration.
• Ability to document designs to a high professional standard.
• Security clearance may be required (DV).

Responsibilities

• Lead all phases of the FPGA design life cycle from inception to validated design.
• Collaborate with multi-disciplinary teams to push the use of latest technologies.
• Apply design practices that leverage top FPGA vendor tools and methodologies.
• Prepare and maintain design documentation and configuration records.
• Support security clearance processes if required.
