Elekta in Crawley seeks a Lead Electronics Engineer to provide technical leadership for FPGA-based hardware and PCBAs in our medical linear accelerators. You will own digital hardware development across the lifecycle, collaborating with multidisciplinary teams to deliver reliable, safe, and compliant systems.

The role requires expertise in FPGA design, HDL, analogue/digital PCBA work, and a strong focus on signal and power integrity within complex hardware.

Qualifications

• Extensive FPGA and electronic hardware development experience.
• Proficient in VHDL/Verilog/SystemVerilog and HDL verification.
• Experience with analogue/digital PCBA design and PCB layout.
• Knowledge of signal integrity and power integrity in complex hardware.
• Experience in safety-critical or regulated product development is beneficial.

Responsabilités

• Lead the design and development of FPGA-based electronics and PCBAs, including FPGA architecture, HDL development, schematic design and component selection.
• Own signal and power integrity across high-speed, clocking, power distribution and mixed-signal designs, using analysis, simulation and testing to validate performance.
• Plan and carry out FPGA and board-level verification, including simulation, timing analysis, bench testing, fault investigation and documenting results against requirements.
• Provide technical leadership through design reviews, decision-making and coaching other engineers.
• Collaborate with systems, software, mechanical, test, manufacturing, service, quality and suppliers to deliver designs that consider safety, EMC, reliability and manufacturability.
