Job summary

Elekta is leading in precision radiation medicine with a presence in Crawley. This Lead Electronics Engineer role focuses on FPGA-based hardware and PCBA design for medical linear accelerators, owning digital hardware through the full development lifecycle.

You will combine FPGA expertise with analogue and digital electronics to ensure reliable performance while coordinating with multidisciplinary teams across safety-critical medical device development.

Qualifications

• Experience in FPGA design using VHDL, Verilog or SystemVerilog.
• Practical experience in analogue and digital PCBA design, including schematics and PCB layout review.
• Knowledge of signal integrity and power integrity in complex electronic hardware.

Responsibilities

• Lead the design and development of FPGA-based electronics and PCBA, including FPGA architecture, HDL development, schematic design and component selection.
• Own signal and power integrity across high-speed, clocking, power distribution and mixed-signal designs, using analysis, simulation and testing.
• Plan and carry out FPGA and board-level verification, including simulation, timing analysis, bench testing and documenting results.
• Provide technical leadership through design reviews, technical decision-making and problem solving while supporting other engineers.
• Collaborate with systems, software, mechanical engineering, test, manufacturing, service, quality and suppliers to deliver safe, reliable, manufacturable designs.
