Job summary

Environment Agency is seeking a Senior Advisor in Fluvial Flood Risk Modelling to join Evidence Services. You will provide expert modelling leadership, support six Fluvial Delivery Teams, and coach colleagues to handle complex flood risk assessments and uncertainty.

You will engage with risk mapping colleagues to ensure high-quality guidance and modelling outputs that inform decisions across the organisation.

Qualifications

• Expert knowledge and technical leadership in flood modelling and hydrology.
• Experience in building hydraulic flood models in a fluvial setting and GIS packages.
• Mentoring and coaching skills, with commitment to ongoing development.

Responsibilities

• Support 6 Fluvial Delivery Teams technically and contribute to ways of working, skills and training.
• Explain complexity and uncertainty in flood risk to non-experts; influence decisions.
• Collaborate across the Evidence Services and Flood Risk Management directorates to deliver high-quality modelling outputs.
