Job summary

FM Conway is seeking an experienced Asphalt Plant Lead Fitter for our Aggregates and Asphalt division at the Heathrow Plant. You will lead maintenance activities, perform preventative work, attend breakdowns and carry out mechanical repairs, fabrication and welding while upholding high housekeeping standards.

The role requires a qualified Asphalt Plant Lead Fitter with mechanical repair, welding and fabrication skills; burner-related tasks are also involved.

Qualifications

• Qualified Asphalt Plant Lead Fitter with relevant mechanical repair experience.
• Welding and fabrication skills are required.
• Experience with burning (torching) is beneficial.

Responsibilities

• Carry out maintenance duties on asphalt and mobile plant.
• Perform preventative maintenance and attend to breakdowns.
• Execute mechanical repairs, welding and fabrication while maintaining high housekeeping standards.
• Support other sites with maintenance during breakdowns or planned shutdowns.

Qualified Asphalt Plant Lead Fitter

Job description

FM Conway is currently looking to recruit a Asphalt Plant Lead Fitter to join our Aggregates and Asphalt division. You will play a key role in ensuring all required maintenance duties are carried out efficiently, including preventative maintenance, attending to breakdowns, and executing mechanical repairs, fabrication, welding and maintaining high housekeeping standards. This is a permanent, full-time position based at our Heathrow Asphalt Plant.

The duties of the Asphalt Plant Lead Fitter will include:

• Ensuring that all aspects of the Asphalt and Mobile Plant maintenance are carried out in accordance with the requirements of all statutory legislation and the FM Conway Health and Safety, Environmental and Quality Policies
• Operating producing and reviewing, risk assessments, method statements, permits to work and procedures for maintenance tasks
• Ensuring that all plant and equipment is subject to planned preventative maintenance scheme and inspection
• Keeping the site in a safe worthy condition, in order to work safely, optimise plant availability and efficiency within operational budgets
• Operating in a collaborative manner with all operations personnel as required and encourage continuous improvement
• Travelling to and supporting other sites with maintenance in the event of breakdowns and or planned maintenance shutdowns

What skills and experience do you need?

To be considered for this role you must be a qualified Asphalt Plant Lead Fitter and have experience in Mechanical repair skills also burning, welding and fabrication skills will be needed.
