Job summary

Pearson is seeking a Principal Examiner for iAL Further Pure Mathematics WFM in the UK. The role involves ensuring standards across externally assessed units, overseeing standardisation, and leading meetings. You will ensure policy compliance and maintain high integrity in marking and examination processes.

You will oversee quality assurance, coordinate training, and collaborate with the Assessment team to produce reports and ensure timely delivery of contracted units.

Qualifications

• Experience with quality assurance and assessment practice.
• History of moderation or marking for a regulated qualification.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to lead training such as standardisation activities.
• Comprehensive knowledge of the specification for the specialist sector.

Responsibilities

• Lead standardisation meetings and participate in appeals against results.
• Prepare and standardise mark schemes and guidance.
• Represent Pearson at board hearings for examination appeals.
• Monitor progress of supervisors and examiners and backread responses.
• Submit reports to the Assessment team after standardisation and marking.
