Job summary

Pearson is seeking a Principal Examiner to maintain standards for externally assessed units and oversee examiner standardisation. The role requires leading meetings, coordinating marking, and providing QA oversight across multiple papers and versions.

The Principal Examiner collaborates with the Assessment team, supports examiners, and reports on series and candidate performance while ensuring compliance with Pearson policies and safeguarding requirements.

Qualifications

• Experience with quality assurance and assessment practices.
• History of moderation and/or marking regulated qualifications.
• Excellent communication skills.
• Proven ability to lead/co-ordinate training such as standardisation activities.
• Comprehensive knowledge of the specification for your specialist sector.

Responsibilities

• Lead standardisation meetings and participate in standardisation and appeals processes.
• Oversee marking allocations and quality assure responses.
• Prepare and collate materials for standardisation.
• Support supervisors and Examiners throughout marking.
• Submit feedback reports to the Assessment team and Awarding Committee.
