Job summary

Paddington Academy seeks an outstanding English Lead Practitioner to drive teaching standards. You will develop colleagues, lead Curriculum Masterclasses and co-create a ambitious, knowledge-rich English curriculum that raises progress for all students.

Working with the Subject Leader, you will design high-quality materials, ensure precise lesson planning and deliver effective lessons. You will coach trainees and early career teachers to sustain consistently high outcomes across the department.

Qualifications

• Outstanding and ambitious English teacher with a proven record of securing strong student outcomes.
• Experience developing others and leading curriculum development.
• Ability to coach, mentor trainees and early career teachers.
• Commitment to high standards and ongoing professional development.

Responsibilities

• Lead Curriculum Masterclasses to strengthen subject knowledge and teaching expertise.
• Support curriculum development with the Subject Leader and create high-quality teaching materials.
• Ensure lessons are planned with precision and delivered effectively.
• Coach colleagues, trainees and early career teachers to raise standards across the department.
• Contribute to ongoing evaluation and improvement of the English curriculum.
