About us

The Technical Services department provides workshop and technical services across the Science Museum, maintaining interactive exhibits, locksmith services, and exhibit mounts. The team supports the museum's activities to ensure a high-quality visitor experience.

Role overview

We are seeking a Lead Engineering Technician to join us full-time on a permanent basis. You will perform preventative maintenance on attractions, including water features and interactive exhibits, and lead improvements in electromechanical systems. You will also participate in gallery project meetings, providing technical advice and creating drawings and designs.

Candidate profile

We value a pragmatic, knowledgeable approach to engineering problems, with a solid grounding in Health & Safety. Experience with workshop tools and machinery, such as lathes and milling machines, is beneficial. You should be proactive, team-oriented, and ready to support gallery staff as needed.
