Job summary

Cummins Europe is seeking an Engineering Manager, Vehicle Dynamics Controls to lead the development and delivery of advanced braking controls software for commercial vehicle platforms from our Nuneaton, UK site.

You will provide technical and people leadership to a team of controls, software and systems engineers, driving strategy, calibration, validation and compliance with ISO 26262. This role collaborates across electronics, mechatronics, mechanical engineering, validation and suppliers.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in a technical engineering field.
Significant experience developing braking controls software and embedded systems.
Experience leading engineering teams.
Strong knowledge of vehicle dynamics and braking systems.
Experience with ISO 26262 and embedded languages (C, C++, Python).

Responsibilities

Lead development and delivery of braking controls software.
Provide technical and people leadership to a team of controls, software and systems engineers.
Drive control strategy definition, requirements, algorithm design, calibration, simulation and validation.
Oversee model-based development and simulation using MATLAB, Simulink, Stateflow, TruckSim and TruckMaker.
Ensure braking control systems meet performance, safety, quality and reliability targets via MIL, SIL, HIL and vehicle testing.
Champion functional safety compliance per ISO 26262 and safety-critical software processes.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams across electronics, mechatronics, mechanical engineering, validation, functional safety, product management and suppliers.
Lead technical reviews, root cause investigations, risk assessments and corrective action planning.
