Job summary

Cummins Inc. in Cwmbran, UK is seeking a Product Functional Test Technology Engineer to front brake test activities in our on-site lab. You will own torque rig operations, develop test methods and ensure data accuracy while adhering to safety and quality standards.

In this role you will shadow the retiring holder to ensure smooth succession, review requests, coordinate scheduling, and drive continuous improvement across lab systems, instrumentation, and reporting processes.

Qualifications

• Experience with function-based product testing and evaluating results for decision-making.
• Knowledge of laboratory safety and risk mitigation.
• Familiarity with test system design and instrumentation.
• Experience with data capture, analysis and reporting.

Responsibilities

• Support torque rig operation and development for brake testing.
• Shadow retiring holder to ensure smooth succession.
• Review test requests against rig capabilities.
• Coordinate test scheduling with rig planner.
• Monitor tests and investigate deviations.
• Serve as technical owner and contact for rigs.
• Contribute to lab test system design and validation.
• Cross-train across brake/test rigs to cover absences.
