Job summary

CBRE Group, Inc. in London is seeking a Lead Engineer to ensure the reliable operation and maintenance of critical environments within commercial and retail settings, including data rooms and networked systems.

You will lead a technical team, manage maintenance, monitor environmental conditions, enforce change controls, and ensure compliance with CBRE Health & Safety procedures while delivering cost-effective engineering services.

Qualifications

• Recognized electrical qualifications (apprenticeship, HND, C&G) required.
• Essential: 17th Edition Wiring Regulations certification.
• Experience with data centers or critical environments desirable.
• Health & Safety training (IOSH) preferred.
• Strong contract and supplier management skills.
• Effective communication across levels.

Responsibilities

• Manage time and delegate tasks to improve efficiency.
• Control maintenance costs within budget.
• Ensure all services meet SLAs for client networks and data rooms.
• Update plans for critical environments to maintain integrity.
• Implement change control for business-critical areas.
• Generate management reports as needed.
• Provide emergency standby and call-out support.
• Oversee utilities management and environmental practices.
• Carry out technical audits of critical environments.
• Ensure Planned Preventative Maintenance is executed on schedule.
• Collaborate with Facilities Management on environment changes.
• Plan statutory compliance maintenance and testing.
