Qualifications

• City & Guilds Level 2/3 (Electrical or Mechanical) qualification or equivalent.
• Experience as Lead Engineer / Shift Leader / Senior Engineer in FM.
• Strong knowledge of commercial building services and M&E maintenance.
• Experience overseeing subcontractors and site compliance.
• Familiarity with CAFM systems and maintenance reporting.

Responsibilities

• Lead on-site engineering delivery of planned and reactive maintenance.
• Provide day-to-day technical guidance to on-site engineer.
• Coordinate and supervise subcontractors for maintenance and projects.
• Manage permit-to-work system and review RAMS before works.
• Ensure compliance with regulations, health & safety and procedures.
• Monitor service delivery via CAFM, keep records accurate.
• Support client relationships and opportunities for improvements.
• Assist Account Manager with quotations and contractor management.
• Monitor KPIs and SLAs to meet contractual obligations.
• Conduct regular site inspections to maintain standards.

Lead Engineer – FM Service Provider –Liverpool Street- £52,000 per annum

CBW is working with a leading Facilities Management provider who are seeking an experienced Lead Engineer to oversee engineering operations within a prestigious commercial building near Liverpool Street, Central London.This impressive commercial property provides a modern, professional working environment for a variety of corporate occupiers.The building benefits from high-quality office accommodation and modern facilities, supported by technically complex building services.This is an excellent opportunity for a technically strong engineer with previous leadership experience to take responsibility for the day-to-day engineering delivery across a large, busy and business-critical environment.The successful candidate will lead the onsite engineering team, ensuring planned and reactive maintenance, statutory compliance and specialist contractor activities are delivered safely, efficiently and to the highest possible standard.

Working Hours:Monday to Friday, 8:00am – 5:00pm (40-hour week)

Key Responsibilities

• Act as the lead engineer on site, ensuring the efficient delivery of planned preventative and reactive maintenance
• Provide day-to-day support and technical guidance to the on-site engineer
• Coordinate and supervise specialist contractors carrying out maintenance and project works
• Manage the permit-to-work system and review RAMS before works commence
• Ensure full compliance with statutory regulations, health & safety legislation and company procedures
• Monitor service delivery through CAFM systems, ensuring maintenance records are accurate and up to dateCarry out fault finding, diagnostics and repairs across electrical and mechanical building services
• Build and maintain strong working relationships with the client, occupiers and key stakeholders
• Support small project works and identify opportunities for continuous improvement
• Assist the Account Manager with quotations, technical recommendations and contractor management
• Monitor KPIs and SLAs, ensuring contractual obligations are consistently achieved
• Carry out regular site inspections to maintain engineering standards and compliance

Requirements

• City & Guilds Level 2/3 (Electrical or Mechanical) or equivalent recognised qualification
• Previous experience as a Lead Engineer, Shift Leader or Senior Engineer within Facilities Management
• Strong knowledge of commercial building services and M&E maintenance
• Experience overseeing subcontractors and ensuring site compliance
• Familiarity with CAFM systems and maintenance reporting
• Excellent communication and client-facing skills
• A proactive, organised approach with strong technical and problem-solving abilities
• Ability to work independently while supporting the wider contract team
