Job summary

CBW Staffing Solutions is seeking a Shift Leader for a prestigious North West London multi-tenant campus. You will lead a high‑performing on-site engineering team and take responsibility for delivering first-class maintenance across a busy, modern estate.

Working on a continental shift pattern (7 on, 7 off), you will supervise PPM and reactive tasks via the CAFM system, perform hands‑on electrical/mechanical maintenance, and ensure safe, compliant operations for a diverse set of tenants.

Qualifications

• Electrical or mechanical engineering qualification (City & Guilds, NVQ Level 3 or equivalent).
• Experience in a critical environment (offices, banks, data centres, healthcare, or similar).
• Strong understanding of electrical and mechanical building services.
• Experience leading an engineering shift team in a large or critical facility.

Responsibilities

• Lead, motivate and support the on-site shift engineering team.
• Ensure PPM and reactive tasks are completed using CAFM.
• Carry out hands-on electrical and/or mechanical maintenance as required.
• Diagnose faults and minimise downtime to sustain business continuity.
• Maintain maintenance records, RAMS, and site documentation.
• Monitor safety, quality and housekeeping across the site.

Shift Leader – FM Service Provider – North West London – Up to £58,000 per annum

CBW is recruiting an experienced Shift Leader to join a prestigious multi-tenant commercial campus in North West London.This is an excellent opportunity for a technically strong engineer to work within a modern and technically challenging environment, delivering first-class building maintenance across a vibrant mixed-use estate occupied by a diverse range of commercial tenants.

Hours of Work

Continental Shift Pattern – Days & Nights (7 on, 7 off rotation)

Key Duties

• Lead, motivate and support the on-site shift engineering team.
• Ensure all Planned Preventative Maintenance (PPM) and reactive maintenance tasks are completed efficiently using the site’s CAFM system.
• Carry out hands‑on electrical and/or mechanical maintenance when required.
• Diagnose and rectify faults on plant and equipment, minimising downtime and ensuring business continuity.
• Monitor the quality of maintenance activities, documentation and housekeeping standards across the site.
• Manage spare parts and ensure critical stock levels are maintained.
• Maintain accurate maintenance records, reports and job documentation.
• Prepare, review and implement Risk Assessment and Method Statements (RAMS) to ensure safe systems of work.
• Support the delivery of a safe, compliant and high-performing building environment.

Requirements

• Fully qualified in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering (City & Guilds, NVQ Level 3 or equivalent).
• Previous experience working in a critical environment such as commercial offices, banking, data centres, healthcare or other high‑profile facilities.
• Strong understanding of electrical and mechanical building services.
• Experience with critical systems, including UPS, generators, switchgear, transformers and power distribution.
• Previous experience leading an engineering shift team within a critical or large commercial environment.
• Excellent fault‑finding, communication and problem‑solving skills.
• A proactive, customer‑focused approach with a commitment to delivering exceptional engineering standards.
