Job summary

MDE Consultants Ltd is seeking a Lead Electrician with strong Commercial Solar PV background to lead electrical installation teams on projects nationwide in the UK.

The role requires hands‑on leadership of electricians, apprentices and support engineers on site, with responsibilities spanning containment, cabling, testing and commissioning, plus mentoring and ensuring high safety and workmanship standards.

Qualifications

• NVQ Level 3, AM2, ECS Gold Card and 18th Edition are required.
• 2391 or equivalent certification is required.
• Full UK Driving Licence is essential.

Responsibilities

• Lead electrical installation teams on Commercial Solar PV projects.
• Oversee containment, cabling, termination, testing and commissioning.
• Coordinate with mechanical installation teams on site.
• Carry out quality checks and resolve installation issues.
• Manage daily workload and site resources.
• Mentor electricians and support engineers.
• Maintain high H&S and workmanship standards.

Lead Electrician - Commercial Solar PV

£50,000 to £55,000 + Company Van + Hotels Paid + £45 Overnight Allowance + Door to Door Travel + Overtime + Progression

We are recruiting an experienced Lead Electrician with a strong Commercial Solar PV background to lead electrical installation teams across projects nationwide.

This is a hands‑on role for someone who has come through electrical installation and is comfortable leading electricians, apprentices and support engineers on site.

• Lead electrical installation teams on Commercial Solar PV projects

Requirements
