Job summary

Ian Williams Ltd is seeking a Lead Electrician to manage electrical testing and repairs in occupied residential properties, sign off certifications, and maintain high installation standards. The role offers opportunities to help build an in-house electrical team.

Qualified to NVQ level 3 Electrical Installation with AM2, 2391, and 18th edition, you will drive quality and safety while coordinating on-site activities and customer relations.

Qualifications

• NVQ level 3 Electrical Installation and AM2 are essential.
• 2391 Testing & Inspection is essential.
• 18th Edition Wiring Regulations is essential.
• Experience in domestic environments and working in occupied properties.
• Flexible with on-call rota for out-of-hours work.
• Strong customer-facing skills are essential.
• Full UK driving licence is essential.

Responsibilities

• Complete on-going electrical testing (EICRs) and repairs in occupied residential properties.
• Sign off electrical certification and notify building control for new installations.
• Ensure kitchens and bathrooms installations meet quality standards and complete post-inspections.
• Provide validation on electrical repairs, small works, and test & inspections.
• Lead on interviewing and recruiting to build the in-house team.

Our Planned Works team, based across Bristol and Swindon, have an exciting opportunity for an experienced, fully qualified Electrician to take the reigns as we work towards building our own in-house Electrical team.

The Lead Electrician Role

• Complete on-going electrical testing (EICRs) and repairs within occupied residential properties
• As a Lead Electrician, you will also be responsible for checking and signing off electrical certification conducted by the other electricians as well as notifying building control of any new installation works.
• Ensuring installations of works surrounding kitchens & bathrooms are completed to a quality standard and post inspections are completed.
• Validation on electrical repairs, small works, and test & inspections
• In the long run, you will take lead on interviewing and recruiting, as we strive to build our inhouse team

What will you bring as a Lead Electrician?

• Qualified to an NVQ level 3 Electrical Installation, and AM2 is essential.
• 2391 - Testing and Inspection is essential
• 18th Edition Wiring Regulations is essential.
• Experience working within a domestic environment, and comfortable working within occupied residential properties.
• Flexibility and a can-do attitude, with the occasional requirement to be part of our on-call rota for emergency out of hours electrical work.
• Strong customer facing skills are essential, as you often be the face of the business from our customers perspective
• A full UK Driving License is essential for this role.
