Job summary

Rullion is seeking a Lead Technician in Derby on a 6 month contract with extension potential to support a busy rolling stock depot. You will lead complex electrical fault finding, diagnostics, repairs and reliability improvements.

NVQ Level 3 in Electrical Engineering (or equivalent) and experience in maintenance environments are required, with ability to work a 4 on/4 off shift roster including days and nights. Safety and compliance come first.

Qualifications

• NVQ Level 3 in Electrical Engineering or equivalent is required.
• Experience in maintenance, overhaul, modification or production environments.

Responsibilities

• Lead complex fault finding, diagnostics, and repairs on rolling stock assets.
• Support planned and reactive maintenance activities.
• Identify and rectify electrical defects.
• Produce technical scopes of work and support reliability improvements.
• Provide technical support during service failures and depot operations.
• Maintain accurate maintenance records using SAP and other maintenance systems.
• Ensure full compliance with safety, quality, and operational standards.

We are seeking a Technician to join a busy maintenance depot in Derby, supporting the servicing, fault finding, repair, and reliability improvement of modern rolling stock. This is an excellent opportunity for a highly skilled electrical technician looking for a long-term contract with strong earning potential.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead complex fault finding, diagnostics, and repairs on rolling stock assets.
• Support planned and reactive maintenance activities.
• Identify and rectify electrical defects.

What We're Looking For

• NVQ Level 3 in Electrical Engineering (or equivalent qualification)
• Experience working in maintenance, overhaul, modification or production environments
• Strong electrical fault-finding and diagnostic skills.
• Experience using maintenance management systems.
• Experience of working a 24/7 shift roster
• Excellent safety awareness within a regulated engineering environment.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
