Job summary

DRVN Automotive Group seeks a Lead EDS Design & Integration Engineer to join our electrical engineering team in Coventry. You will lead vehicle electrical system design, ownership of requirements, verification, and cross-functional integration with powertrain, body, chassis and software teams.

You will oversee lab cars, HiL, and test rigs, drive DFMEA/DVP processes, and ensure changes are controlled and documented. Strong leadership and communication are essential.

Qualifications

• Degree in Engineering or equivalent proven experience.
• Experience in the whole EDS development life cycle from system requirements through production.
• Experience in whole vehicle electrical systems testing, commissioning and homologation.
• Strong understanding of system architecture, design, and integration methodologies.
• Strong computer skills, familiarity with Microsoft Office.
• Experience in electrical design tools such as Arcadia, Zuken or VeSys.
• Working knowledge of Vector toolset - CANape, CANoe & CANalyzer.
• Self-motivated, with ability to coordinate multiple projects.
• Hands-on, team-oriented with leadership, problem-solving and analytical skills.
• Understanding importance of managing engineering change requests and claim management.
• Strong communication skills and organisational time management.
• Willing to support others and adapt to changes.

Responsibilities

• Manage vehicle-level topology, electrical schematics, connector selection, and terminal sizing to DRVN standards.
• Develop low-voltage wiring harnesses, 2D schematics, and support CAD EE team in 3D packaging.
• Own electrical system design requirements, functions and performance and verify through development life cycle.
• Collaborate with powertrain, body, chassis, and software teams for seamless electrical integration.
• Support system review, verification & validation activities including FMEAs, FuSa, test planning.
• Lead planning and oversight of lab cars, HiL and test rigs for development and validation.
• Support development of test and validation procedures and specifications.
• Be EE representative in meetings with customers, suppliers, managers and engineers.
• Ensure DFMEAs, DVPs and Quality Concern Resolution are implemented.
• Resolve design/manufacturing issues during projects; adhere to company policies.
• Work with Manufacturing to determine feasible solutions and control engineering changes.
• Manage documentation as part of change management for existing systems.
• Complete design verification and function sign-off in line with project deadlines.
