Job summary

RTL Group Ltd in Leeds is seeking an experienced Electrical Site Manager to oversee electrical building services installations on a range of commercial and residential projects. You will manage day‑to‑day site activities, ensure safety, quality and timetables, and coordinate labour and subcontractors.

The role requires reading electrical drawings, supervising installation of power, lighting, containment and fire alarm systems, and maintaining strong liaison with main contractors and consultants.

Qualifications

• Proven experience managing electrical site activities on commercial and residential projects.
• Ability to read and interpret electrical drawings and specifications.
• Experience coordinating multiple trades and subcontractors.
• Knowledge of health and safety regulations on construction sites.
• SMSTS or SSSTS certification preferred.
• CSCS card appropriate to role is desirable.
• Current electrical regulations knowledge; testing experience advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Manage and supervise all electrical installation activities on site.
• Oversee installation of power, lighting, containment and fire alarm systems.
• Coordinate electrical subcontractors, site operatives and specialist trades.
• Ensure works are carried out in accordance with drawings, specifications and programme requirements.
• Monitor daily site progress and report updates to the Project Manager.
• Coordinate electrical works with other building services contractors.
• Ensure all site activities comply with health and safety legislation and company procedures.
• Carry out regular quality inspections and ensure installations meet standards.
• Manage site materials, deliveries, labour and subcontractor productivity.
• Attend site meetings and liaise with main contractors, consultants and stakeholders.
• Identify and resolve technical issues, installation clashes and programme delays.
• Oversee electrical testing, commissioning, snagging and final handover.
• Ensure electrical installations comply with applicable regulations and project specifications.
